What kind of students are we looking for?
Enrolling in a higher level course may also mean enrolling in a course with higher grade level students. Please note that this request is only considered when there is available space in the class. Students who must earn credit for the course will be the scheduling priority. A student must know how to type in Spanish, using specific characters if necessary. Elementary students use the test Form A; secondary students use the test Form B.
Depending on their score s in writing, speaking, reading and listening, students could earn one high school credit in the fifth-grade. Students do, however, receive this credit towards graduation requirements under the Foundation Plan.

Examination for Acceleration/Credit by Examination
Secondary Student Language Testing. Students may earn up to four credits, depending on the test. A minimum of two credits are required for the foundation high school graduation plan. Students may test in a language in order to earn credit s to be placed in a higher level of that language course. Students must contact their campus counselor to register for language testing. The Oral Proficiency Interview, or OPI, is a live, minute telephone conversation between a certified tester and the candidate.
It is a valid and reliable test that measures how well a person speaks a language. The Oral Proficiency Interview by computer, or OPIc is an internet-delivered test which provides valid and reliable oral proficiency testing on a large scale. It was developed in response to the increased worldwide demand for the testing of oral language proficiency. Thus the test can be taken on-demand, and at a time convenient to the candidate and proctor. The Writing Proficiency Test WPT is a standardized test for the global assessment of functional writing ability in a language.

WPT is a computer-based evaluation that may require use of a dedicated keyboard in the language. The student MUST know how to type in the target language. It is preferred that the student provide the testing laptop with the appropriate keyboard. Grant Henning Ph.
